Today has been simply wonderful. Friends over for lunch. Cooking with my friend. I made the soup and she made the flat breads. Before lunch, we took ourselves off to the charity shops, where I found a pair of never been worn walking boots in my size for £3 and a camping lamp for £3. We sat down last night and looked at savings we could make to have a holiday this year. We're hoping to camp for a long weekend and I'm sure we can save the money some how! A few car boot sales, some ebaying, and turning off the central heating from this weekend onwards and it should be a possibility.

As a group of friends, we are all well paid professionals who have decided to get off the commercial train and take a different route, and we had so much fun rooting around charity shops and then just enjoying each other's company. We discussed how saying no to debt, no to materialism and living quietly and simply has made us much happier people. There's no going back to a life complicated by what we or anyone else owns.
