I'm not buying it!

I love Christmas. I love what it stands for, for a lord and saviour being celebrated on a special day. I love that it reminds us to be charitable, forgiving and to care for our fellow man....I wish we could manage this everyday. It is not about consumerism, lights or masses of drink. I'm making a stand this year and I'm not buying stuff. I will (as I usually do) give people chutney, marmalade or jam that I have made and stashed away. I only send cards to people who I know I wont see in ages and I hand write them all a different letter (I like those 'round robins' but can't bring myself to send them...I don't knwo people who need a year's diary of my life!) and everyone else can have good cheer a mince pie and come in for a mince pie and warm themselves bythe gas fire (which I turn on for Christmas!) well it's on now for the weekend but it's for special occasions only. So no presents! No new nothing....I'll use what I have. No need for a turkey either...who eats it all? I'm sure a chicken is plenty...just make some stuffing and plenty of veg! I've saved a bottle of wine for Christmas too! Who needs to spend any money and I'm sure I will enjoy the celebration just the same.
