Fashion For A Cause Wrap Up

Well it's all over now. The beautiful dresses have been returned, the auction items have been sold, and the ballroom has been cleared. There are no more meetings, or running around like crazy finishing up all the errands, or waking up in the night to write something down on my to do list.

The result?

Absolute Success!!!!! YaY!!!

My first ever fashion show (well at least from the planning side) has come off beautifully! I learned so much through trial and error, doing things like walking out a runway in my living room to figure out timing, to using lots of spreadsheets to cross reference what shoes were going on what models with what jewellery and what clothes, and how long each change would be, and millions of other little details.

Luckily you can't see in the photos the effects of working a full time job, in addition to another at least 40 hours of fashion show stuff in week leading up to it. Put that together with lack of sleep, stressing like crazy, and not eating normal meals, and you can understand some of the incredible amount of work that goes into pulling off a fashion show. I have a newfound respect for anyone who does this for a living...

Check out their website www.fashion-for-a-cause.org, or their facebook page www.facebook.com/FashionForACause for more info on the event, and how you can get involved with this great charity!

Fashion For A Cause

I have a busy little bee lately, helping to plan an amazing event.

Fashion for A Cause is a champagne breakfast, designer fashion parade, and charity auction event taking place at the Palazzo Versace on May 31st.

All proceeds will go towards Elevation Care which provides low cost groceries and clothing to over 4% of the Gold Coast and Tweed Heads regions. Recently receiving an award from Anna Bligh for their contributions to the Queensland flood relief, they are making a huge impact on our community.

Showcasing designs from Leona Edmiston, Strictly Bridal, Emma Milikins Designs, Love St., Mischief Shoes, Esteem Jewellery and many more, this will be a fantastic runway show.

The part I'm especially excited about, though is the special segment on preloved clothing. They have brought me on board as the stylist for this feature segment. We will be showing clothing that has actually been donated to the charity, and reworking it into a runway ready look.

So you can imagine I have been sorting clothes like mad and contacting designers and putting shoes with outfits and calling models, it has been a very busy few months! But I am happy to report we are in the last crazy planning days and it is all slowly coming together.

If your on the Gold Coast, or even anywhere near it, you should definitely check out their website and plan on attending this amazing event. If your not, they always welcome financial donations as well, check out their site here for all the info.

Stay tuned here for all the post show info, including backstage photos, and all the juicy details you have wanted to always know about a fashion show but have never had the behind the scenes connection to actually see how it all really runs!
(warning there will be lots of running around, multiple cups of coffee drank, about 10 cans of hairspray used, possibly a few tears, and hopefully some applause when its all over.

A Sauce Night Out

FG10 is dedicated to all charities so we just had to come out and support 'Women on Women International' (womenforwomen.org.uk) a charity supported by Queen Rania. To celebrate the Charity, fashionistas gathered in Sauce boutique, where Harpers Bazaar and Browns Fashion Teamed up with 6 of the hottest female designers in the world to create 6 unqiue t-shirts in which proceeds go to womenforwomen. We were also delighted to get our very own personalised T-shirts by the funky illustrator Hud Hud...
