Week in Review: The Duchess of Cambridge, 17-23 July

Here's what Catherine wore from 17-23 July:

  1. Viewing the summer exhibition at Buckingham Palace with the Queen, 22 July, in a Joseph dress and Jimmy Choo heels. I got nothing. Bored to tears. Thank heavens the Queen pepped things up with her candor.
As you've no doubt heard by now, the Queen finds the headless display of Kate's wedding gown at Buckingham Palace "horrid" and "creepy", God love her.
I'll take a weird floating tiara over one of those mannequins that look possessed any day, myself. No, you won't find me voluntarily visiting a Madame Tussaud's museum...ever. (Pictures of the dress on display have been added to the wedding gown post.)

Week in Review: Princess Charlene, 17-23 July

Here's what Charlene wore from 17-23 July:

  1. Visiting the exhibition on the couple's marriage, 21 July. Seems a bit formal, this repeated Cavalli, but I'm on board with the bright summer print. Quite youthful, unlike...
  2. a) and b) Monaco Diamond League meeting at Louis II stadium in Monaco, 22 July...this one. She just aged a good decade.

Week in Review: Princess Letizia, 17-23 July

Here's what Letizia wore from 17-23 July:

  1. a) Meeting with directors of the Cervantes Institute, 20 July. I feel like I shouldn't like this, but I do. Maybe I'm too swayed by the accessories, as I'm coveting that clutch (b), and the Pretty Ballerinas shoes are sparkly! (Sparkly with Swarovski crystals and a hefty price tag, mind you.)
  2. a) and b) Attending audiences at Zarzuela Palace, 21 July. I only like this one from the back. Too bad most business requires a face to complete.

Week in Review: Crown Princess Victoria, 17-23 July

Here's what Victoria wore from 17-23 July:

  1. Attending the wedding of Prince Rashid bin El Hassan and Zeina Shaban in Jordan, 22 July. Repeated pink Escada - not very fancy, but when the dress code for men is plain business suits, it works.

Week in Review: Crown Princess Mette-Marit, 17-23 July

Here's what Mette-Marit wore from 17-23 July:

  1. Attending the wedding of friends. Perfectly lovely for a summer wedding, I say.

Week in Review: Princess Madeleine, 10-16 July

Here's what Madeleine wore from 10-16 July:

  1. a) Celebrating Crown Princess Victoria's birthday, 14 July in a Moschino jacket (b). Must be cold in Sweden, hmm? I mean, reflective quilts don't exactly say "festive" to me otherwise. But she gets extra festive points for getting utterly drenched from the rain (c), all in the name of celebrating her sister's birthday.

Week in Review: Crown Princess Victoria, 10-16 July

Here's what Victoria wore from 10-16 July:

  1. Out for a walk.
  2. Attending a ceremony to unveil trees that she and Daniel received as wedding gifts, 13 July, a) on Victoria and b) from Diane von Furstenberg with those YSL heels. This is one of those things that I hate on the hanger, but actually on her it looks pretty good. (And hey: no ponytail!)
  3. Celebrating her 34th birthday, 14 July. Simple, but effective.
  4. At her birthday concert, 14 July.
It was a very cute week in Victoria Land, from delight at wedding presents and birthday fans...
...right down to getting drenched with the family while enjoying her birthday concert. Gotta love the trash bag rain protection!

Week in Review: Princess Marie-Chantal, 10-16 July

Here's what Marie-Chantal wore from 10-16 July:

  1. a - c) Opening a new branch of her children's clothing boutiques in Hawaii in d) Stella McCartney and Gucci shoes. I know we have some Stella haters in the house, but I think that lace dress would look grand on some of our British royal ladies...

Week in Review: Princess Letizia, 10-16 July

Here's what Letizia wore from 10-16 July:

  1. Audiences at Zarzuela Palace and a luncheon for the President of Panama, 11 July. Was it National M.C. Hammer week in Spain?
  2. At the Culture National Awards, 12 July. WAS IT? This is not at all legit, and should be quit immediately.
  3. Visiting Montserrat Abbey, 14 July. I'm checking...I'm checking...okay, not a trace of Hammer.
  4. At the AIJEC 25th Anniversary Gala, 14 July. I just still can't believe she busted out my 2 least favorite pairs of trousers and wore them back to back. I care not about the rest of the week. (And there you have the fundamental problem with the Hammer pants.)
  5. Attending graduation at the naval academy, 16 July. Oh, except that she did it again. I don't get it.

Week in Review: Princess Mathilde, 3 - 9 July

Here's what Mathilde wore from 3-9 July:

  1. Visiting Villa Rose Red, 7 July. Fantastic silhouette for her, though once again I wish it wasn't so matchy-matchy.
  2. Yearly family photo opportunity, 8 July. And speaking of matchy-matchy, here's the annual photo op! That Philippe is one good sport.
